- "Do I need a hostel card, or be a member of a hostel association?"
No!

- "If I have a booking for me & my friend & the booking is under my friend's name, can I check-in before or without my friend who has made the booking?"
Please note that you will not be able to check in unless the booking has been made under your name or if you are together with the person who has made the booking. If you need to check in earlier than the person who has made the booking please ask them to advise us of this via email in advance.

- "What is required at check-in?"
Payment for the accommodation, &euro 5 per person as refundable deposit for sheets & keys and your passport details as required by Italian law.

- "Do you provide bed sheets?"
Yes, they are included in the rate. You will just need to pay a €5 refundable deposit. To ensure cleanliness, sleeping bags are not permitted!

- "Do you provide towels?"
On request you can rent one for free. We just need €10 as a deposit, which you'll get back when you give it back!

- "Is there a curfew or lockout?"
No way, we're not your mum! But as a matter of fact, we have a 24h reception in case you would need something.

- "What time is check-in and check-out in the hostel and can I leave my bags?"
Check-in time is after 1.30 pm, check-out time is 10 am. You can store your luggage all day, free of charge in our storage.

- "Is breakfast included?"
Breakfast isn't included but to keep your bed price nice and cheap we give YOU the choice of what you want to eat once you're here! Take a peek at this month's specials on our facilities page. You'll be shocked at how cheap our YUMMY SCRUMMY BREAKFASTS are!

- "Is there an age limit in the hostel?"
NO 16's & under and NO over 40's.

We have a MAXIMUM AGE RESTRICTION OF40 years. People 40 y.o. & over cannot stay with us (please contact our sister hotel, Hotel Romae). We reserve the right to cancel any bookings and charge the amount for the 1st night as a LATE CANCELLATION FEE if these restrictions have not been respected.

We have a MINIMUM AGE RESTRICTION OF 18 years. People 16 y.o. & under cannot stay with us. People 17 y.o. may stay with us, with someone 18 y.o. or over and if they also have written permission from a parent or a guardian authorizing one of 18 y.o or above to act as a guardian for the duration of time abroad, which must be handed in at the reception at check-in. We reserve the right to cancel any bookings and charge the amount for the 1st night as a LATE CANCELLATION FEE if these restrictions have not been respected.

Example of the permission letter: ' As the legal guardian of .... (your name), I .......... (parent's/legal guardian's name), authorize and give my permission to .............. (one of your 18y.o friend's name) to act as a guardian for the duration of time abroad. I authorize my daughter/son ............... (your name) to stay at The Yellow hostel in Rome, Italy.'

- "Where in Rome is The Yellow?"
We are located next to the central train station (Termini) which is also a hub for all airport transfers to the city. The location provides easy access to all the attractions of Rome.

- "How is the security in the hostel?"
We have staff working 24 hours a day and access to the room is with a key card. In our dorm rooms we provide large under-bed lockers (bring your own padlock or buy one from us).

- "Will I be able to get some sleep?"
Most of the fun is at The Yellow Bar downstairs, away from the rooms, but obviously silence is not guaranteed!

- "Do you also have private rooms in your hostel?"
No, we only have dormitories. We have private rooms at our big sister 3 star hotel, the groovy Hotel Romae, situated right across the road. Send us an email if you're interested or check-out the website www.hotelromae.com

- "Is a reservation necessary?"
There is a chance that you could get a room without making a reservation but this is not the recommended option. Yellow is consistently popular so if you want to guarantee your stay here make sure to book ahead. You can simply do so here on our website.

- "Can I change my reservation or do I have to cancel and make a new one?"
If you would like to change or cancel your reservation you must send us a written request via email or fill out the form. Cancellations or changes are not accepted via telephone. In case you need to cancel your booking and to avoid being charged the first night of your stay, you must send us your cancellation notification in writing, before 1.30pm (CET), the day before your arrival date i.e. prior to 1.30pm at least 24h prior to your arrival date. Only when you receive a reply with the confirmation of your cancellation or change, can you be sure that your request has been processed and what the final outcome is i.e. if you will be charged for a late cancellation.

- "Can I book beds for me & my friends if there are 9 of us?"
If there are 10 or more of you who wish to book at The Yellow, the system will only accept up to 9 of you, so please contact us via email with your request. We reserve the right to cancel any bookings when the total number of guests exceeds 9 people, including separate bookings made by the same person.

- " Can I work at your Hostel if I like Rome and decide to stay here?"
You can always ask if we have job vacancies. We hire pretty much all year long. The only thing you need is a valid EU-passport or a working visa for Italy, stay here with us for 3 months and speak English.
